By Francis William.

Arizona has become a Mecca for senior citizens. While some have chosen to move here on a permanent basis, others flock to the state as members of the snow bird covey. No matter the age or the home of residence if they intend to drive in the state they must meet the requirements as established by Arizona Auto Insurance law.

In some cases this may be more of a challenge than in others because while drivers in the 55 to 65 year old group tend to have the fewest accidents, once they reach 65 the accident rate starts to go up again.

A senior driver when applying for Arizona Auto Insurance has the option of looking for discounts as does any other driver. One of the biggest discounts available for seniors is the one offered for taking the refresher drivers course. It is designed to refresh or acquaint the seniors with current laws pertaining to driving. It also updates seniors on some of the latest safety features available on newer cars.

By knowing what these are and requesting them on the next car they purchase they can potentially save hundreds of dollars on their insurance. Another option is to provide proof of health to the insurance agent and request a discount for good health.

SR22 Requirements For Arizona Auto Insurance.

By Francis William.

If you have been involved in an auto accident in which you were convicted of driving under the influence or if you failed to show insurance to cover your liability in the accident you will need to show proof of financial responsibility to the Arizona Motor Vehicles Department in order to register your car.

Your Arizona Auto Insurance company will file a sr22 form with the MVD and in doing so agrees to notify them if your policy is cancelled by you or them. When you fail to have your insurance on file you will lose your vehicle registration and car tags.

Arizona Auto Insurance law does not set the rates for your sr22 covered insurance. This is an agreement between you and your insurance company. As with any other consumer item it often pays to shop around for the best rates.

There many insurance companies that are permitted to sell insurance in Arizona. It is a very competitive market and rates change from time to time depending upon the competition. Shop for your best sr22 rate before you buy your first one and then shop around each time your policy is coming up for renewal.

Do not be lulled into just renewing your policy each year without checking.

Required Arizona Auto Insurance.

By Francis William.

Arizona is one of the few states that does not mandate liability auto insurance for the people that register cars in the state.

The laws governing Auto Insurance in Arizona state that a car owner may demonstrate financial responsibility by establishing certificate of deposit, a cash deposit, or a bond for the sum of $40,000.00. Because most drivers do not have this ready cash to tie up for protection in case of an accident, most opt to purchase a liability insurance policy before they register their automobile in the state.

The liability insurance can be purchased from any insurance company licensed in the state. If you choose to go with the insurance instead of the proof of financial responsibility Arizona Auto Insurance law has established the minimum amount that you must carry for liability insurance.

You will see the coverage listed as 15/30/10. The numbers quoted are in thousands.

The first number is the amount of personal injury per person per accident.

The second number establishes the maximum amount that will be paid for personal injury per accident and

The Third number is the amount of personal property damage that will be covered per accident.

To put this is another way, if you are in an accident, are found to be at fault, and have the minimum coverage your insurance will cover up to $15,000 per person in personal injuries. However the coverage is limited to $30,000 per accident for all personal injuries. Any damage you do to someone else’s property is limited to $10,000.

While the laws for Auto Insurance in Arizona have established the minimums, most drivers choose to purchase more insurance than required. In these days of high health care costs $15,000.00 does not go far when one considers hospital care, rehabilitation care, and attorney’s fees. The reason many people carry more than the minimum is that you can still be held responsible for any costs that are not covered by your insurance policy.

The Auto Insurance in Arizona, that is required by law, only covers damage to other people and their property in an accident in which you are judged at fault. It does cover repairs to your car or personal property. In the case where the other driver is found at fault and does not have insurance or can not be identified you may end up having to pay for the damages to your vehicle yourself.

Many finance companies and leasing companies will require you to carry collision and comprehensive so that their interests in your car will be protected in case of damage.

Here is an article that we thought would be very helpful to all Arizona residents.

So take the opportunity to read it and then apply the information for yourself.

10 easy tips to help reduce your Arizona Auto Insurance Premiums.

By Francis William.

Are you coming to the end of your Arizona auto insurance coverage policy?

Many people are and it’s not surprising they are finding it more and more expensive every year to spend extra money on their auto insurance, when with a little time and effort they could significantly reduce their premiums.

1. Be a good Driver and maintain a good driving record.

2. Become a Safer Driver by attending a resident’s course in Defensive Driving.

Many insurance providers offer a discount on the successful completion of an approved course. So check to see if your one does.

For more information about these courses in Arizona contact:-

The Arizona National Safety Council.

Customer Service Phone number: 1-602-222-3360

Customer Service Address: 1606 W Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85015

Technical Support and Instructor Phone number: 1-602-326-9620

Technical Support and Instructor Email address: box20@acnsc.org

Support Available: 8:00 AM PST – 9:00 PM PST (except major holidays)

3. Increase the Deductible on your vehicle and by doing so lower your premium.

Check the levels with your provider first to see what you could save then select which one you can afford to live with. If you are using a lending company to finance your car you will need physical damage coverage in Arizona.

4. Review your coverage and cancel anything that is unnecessary, but make sure you still have the state’s minimum requirements covered on your policy. As far as coverage for Arizona drivers are concerned, all drivers are expected to carry a minimum amount of liability insurance before their cars can be registered. The current state minimum for Arizona is $15,000 for the death or injury of any one person and $30,000 for multiple death or injuries per accident. Also despite who is at fault all drivers are expected to have a minimum of $10,000 property damage insurance for each accident to protect their vehicle and cover all damages.

5. Choose your vehicle carefully and only drive vehicles which have good safety features built into them like airbags and curtains, automatic seat belts, anti-lock brakes and anti theft systems. It may surprise you but Insurers really prefer family type vehicles and therefore reward the policy holder more favorably.

6. Increase your Credit Score. It may sound strange but by reducing the number of credit cards you have and then reducing the individual charged amounts on each card will help with your overall rating. Of course it goes without saying that by paying all your bills on time helps immensely.

7. Never let your auto insurance coverage lapse, because when at last you do seek coverage any lapse will unfortunately create a penalty against you.

8. Always ask for a discount. You just do not know until you ask. For instance you may have a teenager on your auto policy and if he or she is deemed to be a good student and maintains grades of ‘B’ or better you could get a premium discount.

9. Getting the best auto insurance in Arizona is comparatively easy. By simply visiting an insurance comparison website entering your ‘Zip Code’, clicking on the ‘GO’ button and within a matter of minutes you can get quotes from a number of companies and choose the cheapest insurance suitable for you.
You will be surprised how easy it is.

10. With the money you save on these reductions why not put it into a savings account and use it towards reducing your deductible next year.
